To get to the buffet, I had to go up a set of escalators, through a security checkpoint, past several television studios, down a few winding hallways... and finally - to the makeshift craft services battle station.

One such evening I was trotting back from the cafeteria, dinner in hand. The usually bustling hallway became suddenly, unnervingly quiet, and, as I walked further, dotted with uniformed policeman who looked very, very serious.

Last year I taught Steve Patterson from CBC's "The Debaters" how to video blog. This year, I'm introducing MuchMoreMusic's Matt Wells to his online Olympic audience in this wee funny little video.

But you can't watch it here. Because CTV's not making its Olympic videos embeddable. Only linkable.

In fact, there's only two places you can view Olympic videos online. CTVOlympics.ca (in smooth streaming, lovely, rich high definition) OR on our old-skool YouTube page.

I recommend the smooth-streaming. It looks AMAZING and the quality adjusts in real-time, according to how quick your net connection is. Plus the controls are a lot like a PVR.

All the plugging aside, I have to say it was a total hoot to be on set at MuchMore... a completely mind bending experience for this small town BC girl! I've been bitten by the hosting bug. Today the web, tomorrow the world! :)

Go watch.... have a giggle, and enjoy gang. It's Saturday.

And instead of partaking in the party obviously happening in my photo ~ above ~ I'm clicking away from my cube at Channel Nine Court.

No hard feelings though. Hammering together a super cool, technologically advanced, GPS enabled Google map of "Shooting Friendly Establishments" for CTV's broadcast and digital Olympic team feels pretty cool all on its own.

Glancing through our preliminary list ~ most of the names you'd know are already on there. The Roxy, Ginger 62, Republic, the Lamplighter.

But what I'd love to do now is dig up those establishments that maybe aren't as well known... but would still like some on-camera love during those crazy sixteen days in February.

If you're a Vancouver business owner who wouldn't mind having a camera crew or two show up and shoot at your locale, drop me a line... roslyn.allen(at)ctv.ca. No promises, but I'll add you to the map and send word up the line that you're down.

Who knows? Maybe you'll get some airtime!

Cheers,

Roz
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.therozblog.com/roz-allen-blog/2009/11/28/you-call-the-play-rough-cut.html"><rss:title>You Call the Play: Rough Cut</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.therozblog.com/roz-allen-blog/2009/11/28/you-call-the-play-rough-cut.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>CTV CTV!! Starring TSN's James Cybulski ~ this is the rough cut of a comedic pitch for a CTVOlympics game titled "You Call the Play."

Shot on a Panasonic HPX170, written & produced by Graham Garside & I. First thing I've EVER EDITED in Avid, hence the rough audio work and lack of transitions. LOL.
